Deforestation: EUDR Compliance

Comply with the EU regulation on deforestation free products

The Regulation on Deforestation Free Products (EUDR) is an important turning point in the global fight against deforestation. It will be a requirement from the 30th December 2024 ( 30th June 2025 for micro and small enterprises), and companies who fail to comply can face severe penalties (up to 4% of your annual turnover).

The EUDR focuses on the following commodities:

The new regulation requires that these commodities, as well as derived products sold on EU shelves, don’t come from land deforested or degraded after 31st December 2020.

Frontierra undertakes a satellite-based analysis of all plots of land identified in the sourcing locations database to determine forest at the baseline and deforestation or degradation after the baseline, assisting in the production of due diligence statements, in line with requirements of the EUDR. Frontierra’s service helps you:

  1. Collate, organise and apply necessary QAQC to plot data, in conjunction with your suppliers
  2. Establish a due diligence system for deforestation monitoring
  3. Analyse deforestation and legality in line with EUDR legislation
  4. Mitigate risks
  5. Submit a compliance statement

Frontierra uses a combination of global forest coverage and forest loss data, officially produced datasets by government institutions and very high resolution satellite imagery, combined with extensive expertise in deforestation monitoring all over the world. Our service is fully customisable and results can be provided in spreadsheets, dashboards, geospatial data or an interactive platform. We strive to develop a solution that will interoperate with our clients existing systems and processes, and is scalable with decreasing costs per plot, by volume.
